Boys basketball: Dawson takes down Collins Hill, Johnson wins battle of Oakwood

It took less than 24 hours for the Dawson County Tigers to shake Friday night's the loss to Greater Atlanta Christian. 

Tate Adkins scored 25 points and pulled 8 rebounds to lead the Tigers past Collins 90-53 Saturday night in the North Georgia Shootout in Dawsonville.

Luke Chism turned in a double-double performance with 15 points and 13 rebounds. He also dished out 7 assists.

Led by Ahmad Kamara with 10 of his 12 points in the first quarter, Dawson outscored Collins Hill 29-12, and, by halftime, the lead was 57-30.

Collins Hill played the Tigers closer in the second half, but the first half was too much to overcome. 

Campbell Reed chipped in 12 points and 6 boards.

The Tigers (6-2, 1-1) will travel to North Hall Friday. Game time is 8:30 p.m.

WEST HALL 48

Danny Garcia scored a game-high 23 points in the win over West Hall. Garcia was 8-for-8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to seal the game. 

Johnson (3-3) will host Oconee County Saturday. Game time is 6:30 p.m.

West Hall (1-5) will travel to Chestatee Friday. Tip is 8:30 p.m.
