The US Department of Transportation has awarded Georgia DOT a $24,821,050 grant to improve a busy intersection of Highway 316 in Barrow County.

An estimated 30,000 vehicles travel on Hwy. 316 daily and nearly 10,000 pass through the intersection with Hwy 211.
A new bridge and interchange will allow traffic on Hwy. 316 to travel over Hwy. 211 uninterrupted .

Gwinnett Daily Post reports the planned interchange is similar to the one currently at Hwy 316 and Collins Hill Road in Gwinnett County.
The grant is made possible through the U.S.. Department of Transportation's Better Utilizing Investment to Leverage Development (BUILD) program.
