Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

GAINESVILLE - An Alto man was taken into custody Monday following a traffic stop in Lula.
 
Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware said in a media release that Jose Peter Arguelles, 23, was stopped by deputies for failing to maintain lane on Main Street in Lula.
 
It was subsequently discovered Arguelles had an outstanding probabtion warrant from November. 
 
Inspection of Arguelles's vehicle revealed he had in his possession: three counterfeit $100.00 bills, digital scales with suspected methamphetamine residue on them, a loaded 9mm pistol, four cyclobenzaprine tablets (muscle relaxer) and 7 Tamsulosine capsules.
 
Arguelles was booked into the Hall County Jail where he awaits a hearing.
