Lawrenceville man charged with meth trafficking after Oakwood traffic stop

A Lawrenceville man was arrested for methamphetamine trafficking Thursday after authorities found $9,000 worth of the drug in his possession during a traffic stop.
 
Jorge Eduardo Cruz-Villela, 32, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Georgia State Troopers at the intersection of Atlanta Highway and Thurman Tanner Parkway. Agents from the state patrol, Hall County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit and the MANS unit found just over nine ounces of methamphetamine concealed on his person, according to a press release from MANS.
 
Cruz-Villela was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and possession of methamphetamine. MANS agents valued the drugs at about $9,000 on the street.
