Officials confirm a Gwinnett County patrol car crashed early Monday morning in the Lawrenceville area, according to the AJC.
Gwinnett Police Cpl. Michele Pihera says they believe the officer suffered a medical event while behind the wheel when his car caught fire at the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway and Georgia Highway 124 around 5 a-m.
She says crews transported the officer to the hospital with minor injuries.
