GRIFFIN — Lanier Christian Academy defeated Griffin Christian 28-12 on Friday in a region matchup that earned the Lightning their first-ever playoff berth in the GICAA state football playoffs.
Junior Caleb Dolan and eighth-grader Jack Luttrell combined for 169 yards rushing while senior Tommy Wandrum contributed 88 yards passing with a touchdown to lead the Lightning (5-3) to the victory.
Luttrell added an interception on defense. LCA will play host to Unity Prep Academy next week for the GICAA Region 2-AA championship at Cabbell Field in Gainesville.
