Hall County is partnering with the Gainesville Jaycees to offer a free Bicentennial concert to area residents this weekend.

Atlanta-based folk rock act Drivin' N Cryin' will be performing at Roosevelt Square in downtown Gainesville Saturday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. in conjunction with the Gainesville Jaycees' annual Mule Camp Market.

"We are encouraging citizens to bring a lawn chair or a blanket and use this opportunity as another way to celebrate Hall County's 200th anniversary through music," said Katie Crumley, public information officer for Hall County Government.

Saturday's concert is one of several Bicentennial celebrations being held during the County's milestone year. Celebrations have also included the publication of Bicentennial calendars in partnership with the Lake Lanier Convention & Visitors Bureau and the University of North Georgia, the launch of a Bicentennial Sculpture Exhibition on the grounds of the Hall County Government Center, a Bicentennial video series, and a number of other private and public initiatives.

"Mule Camp Market has become synonymous with Hall County history," Lee Towns with the Gainesville Jaycees said. "We are looking forward to another great year and are pleased to partner with Hall County to bring a big name artist like Drivin' N Cryin' to the Mule Camp stage for the 200th anniversary of Hall County's founding."

Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event. More information about parking for the concert, including information about downtown shuttle stops, can be found here.
