Lanier Technical College officials have named the school's semi-finalists for the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership.

They are: Rodica Nemes, Practical Nursing, Forsyth County; David Tapia, Cosmetology, Hall County; Christian Johnson, Industrial Systems Technology, Hall County; and Melissa Thornton, Accounting, Dawson County.

GOAL, a statewide program of the Technical College System of Georgia, honors excellence in academics and leadership among the state’s technical college students. GOAL winners are selected at each of the state’s 22 technical colleges as well as one Board of Regent college with technical education division.

They then compete in regional judging in March.  The nine regional finalists will gather in Atlanta in April where the statewide GOAL winner will be announced.
