National produce distributor PRO*ACT has opened voting for its farm grant program, and Hall County's Jaemor Farm and White County's Humble Vine Farm are among the competitors.

Others in northeast Georgia are located in Hartwell and Blairsville.  There are eleven, in all, from Georgia

A total of $75,000 in funding will be awarded to local farms with the most votes through January 31. Winners will be announced on February 5.

The annual grant program demonstrates PRO*ACT’s commitment to creating a sustainable produce supply chain from seed to fork, according to a company press release. Recently, more than 100 farmers across more than 30 states applied for these funds.

Voting is taking place at Cultivatingchange.org where you can also review information on each entry.
