Not only are cold temperatures hard on the human body, they can be hard on vehicles as well.
According to AAA, individuals should let their vehicles warm up a few minutes before driving and make sure gas tanks are full to avoid a buildup of condensation.
AAA officials also urged motorists to consider stocking their vehicles for potential breakdowns. They said items should include blankets, coats, hats, boots, non-perishable food and drinking water.
Officials also recommend jumper cables, a flashlight, car cell phone charger and an ice scraper.
