ATHENS — Flowery Branch had to battle for it, but the Falcons ran away in the second half for a 35-21 win over Cedar Shoals in Athens.

The 1-2 combination of Malik Damons and Malik Drayton proved too much for the Jaguars, as Drayton rushed 25 times for 226 yards and three scores and Damons added 129 yards and two scores.

Cedar Shoals tied it up 14-14 on the first play of the third quarter -- only to watch Drayton and Damons take turns scoring, including an 86-yard touchdown run for Drayton to seal the victory.

The Falcons (5-1, 2-0 Region 8-AAAAA) will play host to Walnut Grove next week.
