Authorities have released the identities of the three men involved in a double-fatal accident Monday afternoon in Forsyth County.

A dump truck collided with garbage truck on Atlanta Highway at Castleberry Road, killing Rodrick Thompson, 38, and Ta'shaun Thompson, 21, both of Cumming.

Thomas Wirkner, 59, of Marietta was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, and remained in critical condition Tuesday morning, said Deputy Doug Rainwater, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office spokesman, in an email to AccessWDUN.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. and forced Atlanta Highway to be closed for the rush hour period.

Rodrick Thompson was driving the garbage truck, while Thompson was his passenger. Wirkner was the only person inside the dump truck, which was filled with asphalt.

Rainwater said the trucks are still being inspected, which will be the determining factor for charges to filed in the case.

No other vehicles were involved.
