CLEVELAND — A kitchen fire damaged a Cleveland home Friday night.

Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt said the fire call at 294 Jess Hunt Road was received about 8 p.m.

Cleveland Fire units, along with automatic aid from White County Fire Services, responded and the first unit on scene discovered a fire in the kitchen area. That blaze was quickly extinguished.

The fire damaged the kitchen area, and resulted in smoke damage throughout the house, Pruitt said. He added the occupants had been away and returned to find the fire. He also said power had been out for several days prior to the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Smoke and fire damage is visible in the kitchen of this house on Jess Hunt Road in Cleveland.
