A wrong-way crash on Ga. 365 in Stephens County early Saturday has the highway shut down and claimed the lives of two people.

At 4:27 a.m., Stephens County 9-1-1 received a call of a wrong-way driver on Ga. 365 near the Stephens/Habersham County line, said Cpl. Dallas Van Scoten of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.

"Around 4:30 a.m., Stephens 9-1-1 was notified of a head-on collision on 365," Van Scoten said.

Van Scoten said a car driven by a 16-year-old male struck a car occupied by two females head-on in the left lane of Ga. 365.

"The two females are deceased and the 16-year-old was airlifted to Greenville and is critical," according to Van Scoten.

Because families have not been notified yet, no further details are available.

Ga. 365 remains shut down.
