In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irma, area schools and businesses are altering their schedules.
The list below will be updated as AccessWDUN receives notifications:
SCHOOL CLOSINGS (includes public and private schools, colleges and universities and pre-schools):
- Banks County Schools are closed Friday.
- Gainesville City Schools will be closed for the remainder of the week. 12-month employees should report.
- Habersham County Schools closed for the remainder of the week.
- Hall County Schools will have "School from Home" on Friday. All school-staff are asked to report at 8 a.m. for a normal day if it safe to do so,
- Lumpkin County Schools are closed Friday.
- The Northeast Georgia Speech Center will be closed for preschool classes on Friday.
- Stephens County Schools will be closed Friday. 12 month employees should report if able.
GOVERNMENT
- Banks County Superior Court is canceled for the week.
- Cornelia City Park Trail and Chenocetah Tower will be closed until further notice due to fallen trees and downed power lines.
OTHER:
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier will be closed Friday, Sept. 14
