Preliminary details are emerging about a medical emergency involving a child on Lake Burton Sunday afternoon.

"At 3:48, Rabun EMS and Rabun County Fire responded to a report of a boat at Anchorage Marina with an unresponsive female child onboard," said Rabun County Assistant Fire Chief Justin Upchurch.

Upchurch said the reason for the girl losing consciousness is unknown.

"Upon fire and EMS arrival, the child had regained consciousness," Upchurch said. "She was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta."

No update on her condition is available, according to Upchurch.

Similarly, local Georgia Department of Natural Resources personnel and spokesman Mark McKinnon said details of the incident are very limited so far.
