The Georgia State Patrol has released details of a Sunday-morning wreck on Ga. 15 at Antioch Church Road in Habersham County.

The wreck involved a gold 2001 Toyota Echo driven by Hilda Ramos, 49, of Cleveland, Tenn., and a grey 2007 Honda Accord driven by Rebecca Stovall, 35, of Atlanta, according to Trooper 1st Class Aaron Church of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.

Ramos’ car was traveling west on Antioch Church Road and had come to a stop at its intersection with Ga. 15 (U.S. 441) northbound, Church said. Ramos then pulled her car into the center crossover and came to a stop again.

As she attempted to cross over Ga 15 southbound, Ramos pulled her car into the path of Stovall’s car, which was traveling south on Ga. 15 in the left lane, according to Church.

Stovall attempted to avoid Ramos’ vehicle by traveling back into the right lane, Church said. The front of Stovall’s car struck the right passenger door of Ramos’ car, with impact occurring in the right, southbound lane of Ga. 15.

After impact, Ramos’ car traveled south onto the right shoulder and rotated, the struck several small bushes with its rear and came to rest off the road facing northeast, Church said. Stovall’s car struck a yield sign with its front, then continued onto the right shoulder and rotated slightly counter-clockwise and struck several small bushes with its front, coming to rest off the road facing south.

Ramos was injured and was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Church said. Neither Stovall nor her passenger, 39-year-old Dustin Dolatowski of Atlanta, were transported for treatment.

Charges are pending, Church said.
