CARNESVILLE -- Franklin County Sheriff Steve Thomas is asking residents and visitors to keep watch for a missing and possibly endangered man.

"I need people in the areas of Lewis Crump Road and the Highway 320 area to be looking for Dave Gray," Thomas said Saturday night. "He has early stages of Alzheimer's and left walking around 8:30 this morning wearing black pants, a green long-sleeve T-shirt and orange vest."

Thomas said Gray also could be in the Prospect area.

"We are trying to use a tracking dog and need everyone to stay out of woods so as not to confuse the dog," Thomas said.

Anyone who sees Gray, or hears from him, is asked to dial 9-1-1 immediately.

Firefighters, deputies and sanctioned volunteers are conducting a foot search, but again Thomas asks anyone who is not part of an official search party to stay out of the woods and off the ground in the area.
