Posted 7:33AM on Wednesday 9th August 2017 ( 6 years ago )

A new restaurant will open this academic year at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, and a grand opening celebration is planned for next week.

The grand opening and tours for The Georgia Public House and new Student Wellness Center will take place during celebration at 10 a.m. on August 19.

The Georgia Public House, located in the new Student Wellness Center, will join Carol Anne's Cafe (formerly The Dining Hall) and The Daily. The new restaurant will be a casual, farm to table style restaurant and is open to the public. The majority of the ingredients will be Georgia grown with a focus on produce within a 50-mile radius of the university.

The Student Wellness Center also features student commons, a leisure pool, fitness center and gymnasium.

MMI Dining Systems, who manage all eating establishments on campus, will oversee the restaurant and staffing. Aaron Ellinger, who will manage The Georgia Public House, says, “[The restaurant] has been equipped to be limited only by our imagination. We have an opportunity to create items which may have similarity to some of our favorite foods with a creative Chef who has been working for years in the farm-to-table arena.”

The restaurant will accept varying forms of payment as well as student meal plans.

The Georgia Public House will be located inside the George Blaurock Student Wellness Center, which is scheduled for a Grand Opening ceremony on Saturday, August 19.
