Volleyball roundup: North Hall splits opening matches; Branch stays unbeaten; East Hall splits

COAL MOUNTAIN — North Hall split a pair of matches with North Forsyth and North Atlanta Tuesday to open its girls volleyball season.

The Lady Trojans fell to host North Forsyth in two game 25-11 and 25-19 but rebounded to beat North Atlanta 25-5 and 25-13 in the second match.

Lily Paschall had a huge afternoon for North Hall with 26 assists, 4 kills, 4 digs, 7 aces, and won 17 service points. Melissa DeVerter had 7 kills, 10 digs, and 6 blocks, Autumn Tucker had 10 kills and 6 digs, and Lena Strickland had 11 digs for the Lady Trojans.

Savannah Miller had 5 kills and Maci Gillespie 6 digs for North Hall.

North Hall next will play host to West Forsyth on Thursday.

FLOWERY BRANCH VOLLEYBALL 3
PRINCE AVENUE 0

The Flowery Branch girls volleyball teams stayed unbeaten with a straight set win over Prince Avenue Christian Tuesday.

The Lady Falcons (2-0)  knocked off the Lady Wolverines 25-17, 25-22, 25-12).

Leading the way for Flowery Branch were junior setters Oriah Ware and Ansley McLean, each contributing 11 assists. Sophomore outside hitter Katie Williams had 10 kills and 2 service aces and junior outside hitter Ashley Scott added 6 kills and 1 assist.

EAST HALL SPLITS

The East Hall Lady Vikings took their season record to 4-3 by splitting a pair of matches with Monroe Area and West Hall.

The Lady Vikings defeated Monroe Area 25-7, 25-12 but fell in a tough three-set match to West Hall, 25-20, 28-26, 25-17.

For the Lady Vikings, Savannah Thellman had 14 points scored on serve with 5 aces, 5 kills, 6 digs and 33 assists. Holly Poole added three points scored on serve with 1 ace, 13 kills, 3 assists and 11 digs, Summer Lindsey had 7 points scored on serve with 2 aces, 4 assists and 38 digs, and Tessa Rider scored 5 points on serve with 1 ace, 1 assist, 4 digs and 13 kills.

Janelly Lara scored 34 points scored on serve with 5 aces, 2 assists, 1 kill and 11 digs, Niyah Rucker had 3 points scored on serve with 1 ace, 20 kills, 6 digs and 3 blocks, Sarah Salyers had 5 assists and 2 digs, and Macy Thomas had 6 kills on the night for East Hall.
