Hall County officials: Rabid raccoon found in Lula

Hall County officials on Friday confirmed the seventh instance of rabies found in the county this year, with the latest case showing up in Lula.

A dog had contact with a rabid raccoon in the area of Wheeler Drive, officials said in a press statement Friday afternoon.

The raccoon was sent to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur, where it tested positive for rabies.

Positive alert signs have been posted in the area.
