Two Gainesville men are facing a combined list of 24 charges for their roles in a home invasion that Hall County Sheriff's deputies busted early Friday morning in East Hall.

Jose Luis Ochoa-Paredes, 38, and Luis Alberto Roque, 31, allegedly went to the home on Joe Chandler Road to collect a debt, said Deputy Stephen Wilbanks, Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Deputies arrived on scene shortly after midnight, and found Roque standing outside the home with a shotgun.

"At some point during the initial stages of the encounter, (Roque) fired a shotgun round outside of the residence, and both eventually gained access to the home, which was occupied by numerous adults," said Wilbanks in a statement.

Deputies found Ochoa-Paredes, also armed, hiding inside the home, and both were taken into custody.

Nobody was injured in the incident, and Wilbanks said there was minor damage done to the home at the time of the crime.

Ochoa-Paredes is charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, and Roque faces eight counts of the same charge.

Both are charged with first degree burglary, criminal trespass and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Both men remained in the Hall County Jail Monday afternoon, pending their first court appearances.
