Authorities said it was a Kentucky man whose body was discovered in Dawson County near Amicalola Falls State Park last week.
In an email Monday morning, Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson identified the man as Michael Johnson, 54, of Liberty.
County EMS Director Lanier Swafford confirmed this past Tuesday that the body was found off a trail near Len Foote Hike Inn and Lodge.
He said foul play is not suspected.
