A South Hall food pantry is planning a Back to School Festival Saturday.

Oakwood-based South Hall Community Food Pantry is operated by six partner churches: Christ Lutheran, First Baptist Church of Oakwood, McEver Road United Methodist, Oakwood 1st United Methodist, Restoration Presbyterian, and St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church.

"We provide a 3-4 day supply of groceries and served over 1,100 families last year," Interim Treasurer Mary Alice Swope wrote in a recent email.

This is the second year for the festival, which will be held from noon 'til 2:00 at 4211 Walnut Street in Oakwood.

It will feature food, games, haircuts, music, and free school supplies but children must must be present to receive the school supplies.  Hot dogs and drinks will be provided by Memorial Park Funeral Home South.
