A body was located near Amicalola Falls State Park Tuesday morning.
Dawson County EMS Director Lanier Swafford confirmed that a man's body was found off a trail near Len Foote Hike Inn and Lodge, north of Amicalola Falls State Park. Sheriff Jeff Johnson confirmed the man was found off the Appalachian Trail.
"Staff was called and found the male, who was deceased, off the trail," said Swafford. "Coroner's office and Dawson County Sheriff's Office are assisting in the investigation. Doesn't appear to foul play."
Swafford said they are waiting to notify next of kin before releasing any more information.
