Gladden wins Clarkesville Special Election

CLARKESVILLE -- The unofficial final results are in for the Clarkesville Special Election and show that Terry R. Gladden will fill the vacant city council seat.

Gladden received 57.89 percent of the votes (77 votes)to Jerry Hamilton's 42.11 percent (56 votes), according to figures released by the Habersham County Elections and Registration Office.

The Post 3 seat was vacated when Councilman Casey Ramsey relocated out of the city.

Only 14.12 percent (134) of the city's registered voters cast ballots.
