Jackson named Truett wrestling coach

CLEVELAND — Truett McConnell University and its athletic department have named Jonathan Jackson as the school's next head wrestling coach. Jackson most recently was an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Anderson University.

Jackson worked as an assistant and interim coach at Anderson from 2010 to 2016. While wrestling at Anderson, he became a national champion at 157 pounds in 2010. He is currently a member of the National Wrestling Coaches Association and is certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Children and Residential Experiences.

Jackson graduated from Anderson in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Since 2013, he has worked as a Program Coordinator at Generations Group Homes.

Jackson will also serve as an instructor of exercise science in the Pilgram Marpeck School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Jackson is married to Ashley and they have three kids: Nevaeh (6), Ashton (3) and Carson (6 months).
