The residential fire that displaced three people, including an infant in north Hall County this past Sunday afternoon is being blamed on lightning, fire officials said Wednesday.

The roughly 1400 square home on Whitmire Circle was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived, fire Captain Zachary Brackett wrote in an email Sunday evening.  A neighboring house also sustained minor damage.

A 23-year-old man, 25-year-old woman and 4-month-old baby escaped injury but were displaced by the fire.  A dog had been rescued before firefighters arrived, according to Brackett.
