Work has begun on resurfacing a portion of McEver Road in West Hall.

State Department of Transportation spokeswoman Katie Strickland confirmed the work was underway after "road work" signs went up Friday morning at the McEver/Browns Bridge Road intersection and along sections of both roads.

"We have started the resurfacing project there from SR 53 (Mundy Mill Road) to SR 369 (Browns Bridge Road)..." Strickland wrote in an email.  The total length of the project in 2.105 miles, according to Strickland.

The work, at a cost of $972,924, is being done by C.W. Matthews, Inc., and is scheduled for completion this September.
