A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle on Queen City Parkway, according to a Gainesville Fire Department official.
The accident happened in the area of Banks Street at roughly 5:00 p.m., according to fire division chief Keith Smith.
"One patient was transported, emergency, to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in serious condition," Smith wrote in an email.
Queen City Parkway was completely blocked as first responders and authorities worked the scene.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident, according to Smith.
