The Hall County Landfill collected nearly 22 tons of litter picked up as a part of Keep Hall Beautiful's Team Up to Clean Up event, which concluded Monday.

Clean up events were organized throughout the month of April at various locations across the County, including Floyd Road and Atlanta Highway.

The total amount collected was weighed at the Landfill and totaled 21.72 tons.  Hall County officials are currently studying the option of purchasing and implementing an Automated Recycling Center, which could have kept up to 40 percent of that tonnage out of the landfill.

The Team Up 2 Clean Up event was spearheaded by Keep Hall Beautiful in conjunction with Earth Day on April 22 and the Great American Clean-Up.
