This week, the Afternoon News Wrap continued its year-long look at Georgia's opioid crisis by discussing new legislation passed to address the issue, inviting back to the show Dallas Gay, someone many have called the driving force behind abuse legislation in the state.

Gay, who took up the cause after opioid addiction resulted in the death of his grandson, discusses several measures state officials took this year to help fight the epidemic, including Senate Bill 121, also known as the "Jeffery Dallas Gay, Jr. Act," named after Gay's grandson.

Gov. Deal will sign SB 121 into law on Thursday at 9 a.m. at the State Capitol.
