One part of the Big Creek Greenway multi-use trail in Forsyth County will be periodically closed beginning Monday because of a road widening project.

The closure is the widening of Bethelview Road and the bridge removal and replacement construction over Big Creek.  County officials say the closures will occur periodically for no more than three consecutive days per closure. The contractor has agreed to keep the Greenway open on the weekends, and the Engineering Department is working with the contractor to limit the number of closures.

It is estimated that the project of removing and replacing the bridge to take approximately two months, weather permitting.
