Oakwood City Council waives permit, inspection fees for nonprofit

Posted 2:28PM on Tuesday 11th April 2017 ( 7 years ago )

A nonprofit will not have to pay certain fees to the city as it works on a home designed to serve area veterans in need.

Oakwood City Council waived fees for inspections and permitting for Bridging the Gap of Georgia Monday night at a city council meeting, City Manager Stan Brown confirmed.

When completed, the house on Hilldale Road will be able to house up to six veterans at a time.

The home previously belonged to Frank Turk, a businessman and Army veteran who passed away in 2011, and was donated to the foundation by his estate.
