CLARKESVILLE -- The east side of Clarkesville’s downtown square was filled with sounds of celebration Thursday night as officials heralded the completion of the rebuilding process that followed a catastrophic fire.

A highlight of the ceremony was the dedication of the newly-created plaza area in memory of former Clarkesville Mayor Terry Greene. Greene’s family was in attendance for the ceremony.

State and local officials shared and acknowledged the work that went into getting the buildings ready for occupancy.
