MT. AIRY — The Gainesville girls tennis team routed Habersham Central on Monday in Mt. Airy.
The Lady Red Elephants did not drop a set in the victory, including a 6-0, 6-0 win for Haley Frankum at No. 1 singles. Meanwhile, Grayson Wagner won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Ali Waggoner won 6-0, 6-1 in No. 3 singles.
The No. 1 doubles team of Paige Ackerman/ Madi Kiser prevailed 6-0, 6-2, and the No. 2 team of Paige Patterson/Grace O’Keefe won 6-0, 6-0.
The Gainesville boys and girls will host the Region 8-AAAAAA tournament, beginning at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Longwood Park.
