Suspect identified in Buford identity theft investigation

Thanks to a tip, Gwinnett County Police have identified the woman suspected in multiple identity theft crimes in the Buford area.

Alcie Almecoh Green, 43, of Atlanta is accused of opening multiple fraudulent lines of credit at stores in and around the Mall of Georgia, including Belk, Von Maur, TJ Maxx and Target, and buying more than $9,000 worth of merchandise, according to a news release from Gwinnett County Police.

Green faces two counts each of theft by deception and identity fraud.

Credit lines were also opened at stores in Duluth and online as well, while transactions were made at the Kohl's and Comcast stores in Duluth, using the identity of a woman from Atlanta.

Green's whereabouts are currently unknown, but she could still be in the Atlanta area. Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact Gwinnett Police at (770) 513-5300.
