Lookout continues for local man in Jasper restaurant robbery

Posted 1:34PM on Monday 20th March 2017 ( 7 years ago )
A man police believe lives in Gainesville or Hall County remained on the lam Monday following a weekend robbery in Jasper.

Jasper Police Lt. Matt Dawkins said officers believe William Timothy Myers spent about two hours eating at the Waffle House on Interstate South Drive.

Dawkins said Myers allegedly demanded money from a waitress early Saturday morning.

"Which was pretty much an intimidation type thing, a robbery that way.  We don't think there was any weapons involved, and that's why he's charged with strong arm robbery instead of armed robbery," Dawkins said.

Myers, also known as "Polo" has at least two distinct tattoos on his face.

"One being a Ralph Lauren emblem, or the symbol for Ralph Lauren on the left side of his face, and then a cursive "H" between his two eyes, plus multiple other tattoos," Dawkins said.

Officers identified Myers through several tips they received after posting a surveillance photo from the restaurant on the department's Facebook page.  Myers is 28 or 29 years old, according to Dawkins.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call 911 or the Jasper Police Department at (706) 253-9110.  Dawkins said tipsters can remain anonymous.
