Keep Hall Beautiful targets private property for Spring initiative

Posted 7:38AM on Sunday 19th March 2017 ( 7 years ago )
In a first for the organization, Keep Hall Beautiful will participate in Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup.

The local initiative, called Team Up to Clean Up, will focus on neighborhoods and communities throughout the county.

Keep Hall Beautiful Executive Director Kelly Norman said the idea came through a meeting with code enforcement officers.

"We recognized a need for private property cleanups and we thought, 'what a great opportunity to engage our residents and Team Up to Clean Up,'" Norman said.

The organization wants communities to register and commit to cleaning up their own property, shared property and/or assisting others who need a hand.

"Maybe a neighborhood, an apartment complex, possible a community center, anything that is private property, privately owned that could use some TLC and a good sprucing up," Norman said.

The deadline to register for the April initiative is next Wednesday.  The cities of Oakwood and Flowery Branch have already signed on.
