A Flowery Branch man is accused of posing as a tree cutter and ripping off homeowners in the North Gwinnett area.

The Gwinnett County Police Department said in a press release that detectives are looking for 22-year-old Andrew Mosley in connection with the theft of approximately $9,000 paid for services he never performed.

The investigation began on December 1, 2016 when victims began to report Mosley as the man who had approached them, posing as someone who operated a legitimate tree cutting and removal service. Mosley would get half or full payment for a job up front, but then failed to finish the work. In some cases, he did no work at all, according to the press release.

Mosley is said to have operated his scam business under three names - B&M Tree Services, Mosley Tree Service and United Tree Service.

Police say they've identified 14 victims and they believe there may be more. The statement said several of the victims were elderly - in their mid 70s to early 80s.

Right now, Mosley faces 13 counts of misdemeanor theft by conversion and one count of felony theft by conversion.

Gwinnett Police Department detectives are working with Suwanee Police Department and any other agency that has information on Mosley.
