Meetings planned in Gwinnett, Franklin counties to discuss interstate detour routes

A pair of public meetings are planned in Gwinnett and Franklin counties to discuss detour routes as the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) works to rehabilitate bridges along I-985 and I-85.

Crews will be working on the Thompson Mill Road bridge in Buford, according to a news release from GDOT, and a meeting will be held March 16 at Buford City Hall from 4 to 6 p.m. to discuss possible routes.

In Franklin County, work is planned on the Ga. 328 bridge over I-85.

A detour open house is planned for March 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Lavonia Community Center.

Attendees to both meetings can provide comment on provided cards, or comments can be submitted online here.
