Jackson EMC, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will help place two Osprey nests at Lake Lanier on Friday morning.

"Our team will use a barge to install two 65-foot poles and then locate Osprey nests on them, hoping the two families that have taken up residency on Boling Bridge (on the Dawsonville Highway) will move to the new nests, developed by the Audubon Society," Jackson EMC spokeswoman April Sorrow said.  "The two nests will be located about 1,000 feet apart."

The birds have long used the bridge as a nesting place.

"This is a new venture for us," Sorrow added, "but one we are very excited about, very excited to partner with these other entities to help build this habitat."
