Automated web water payments to the City of Gainesville will be "on hold" for one week starting Tuesday.
The Department of Water Resources, in an email to its customers, says the interruption will last from 4:30 p.m. Tuesday until March 7. The reason is a scheduled software upgrade.
"During this time, our automated web payment option will be unavailable," according to the email.
City spokeswoman Catiel Felts confirmed the information, as well, late last week, emphasizing that the online payment system, www.gainesville.org, will not be available.
Felts said the new platform has been developed over the past two years. City officials say it will speed business up internally and provide better features for customer use in the future.
