Gainesville Mayor Danny Dunagan is scheduled to deliver this year's State of the City address Tuesday.

It is the first business item on the agenda for a meeting of the Mayor and City Council, which begins at 5:30 at the Justice Center on Queen City Parkway.

Othere items on the agenda include the 2016 Fire Department Life Saving Awards, Police Department Valor Award and Police Department Employee of the Year (2016) Award.

Second readings are also scheduled on amendments to the city's sign regulations and a resolution changing the name of Touchdown Drive near Gainesville High School to DeShaun Watson Way, in honor of the Gainesville High grad who led the Clemson Tigers to the 2016 NCAA College Football Championship.
