Surgeons, doctors and other medical professionals were lobbying at the state capitol this week, pushing for legislation and funding to install tourniquet kits across Georgia's public schools.
On Wednesday, ANW host Russell Brown visited Northeast Georgia Medical Center's Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Clinic to learn more about the "Stop the Bleed" campaign and the potential impact future legislation could have in saving lives across Georgia.
Included in Wednesday's intial conversation were Chad Black, Chairman of the Regional Trauma Advisory Committee (RTAC), and Deb Battle, Director of the hospital's Trauma & Acute Surgery (TACS) unit. Later, Russell spoke with Kyle Gibson, an Emergency Department nurse and RTAC's "Stop the Bleed" liason, as well as TACS Surgeon Dr. Nathan Creel and Trauma Operations Manager Jesse Gibson.
