CLEVELAND — It's been almost a month since the tragic accident that took the life of 3-year-old Easton Cain in the Ingles parking lot in Cleveland.

It's been a time of hurting and healing for the Cain family. Now the family has released a special message to White County residents.

Ricky and Stephanie Abernathy and the Cain issued the following email statement:

Dear White County,

Words cannot express our appreciation and thanks to you for your kindness shown to our family during the recent tragic and senseless death of our precious Easton.

We are grateful to live in a community that gathers around those in need, and to have friends and family that love one another.

We will hold Easton forever in our hearts and long for the day to see him again! Please continue to pray for our family.

The family of Easton Cain, 3, of White County wants the community to know they are thankful for the support in the weeks following his death.
