Officials are seeking public comment on changes to the Hall County Transportation Improvement Program which include allocating more money for the widening of Spout Springs Road and Lanier Islands Parkway.

Sam Baker, Transportation Planning Manager for the Gainesville-Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization, confirms that the GHMPO Technical Committee is scheduled to discuss the changes when it meets on Wednesday and the group's Policy Committee is expected to adopt the changes on March 7.

The revised document calls for these changes in funding for the Spout Springs Road work:

*Increasing fedral funding from $10.1 million to $12.1 million

*Increasing state funding from $2.5 million to $3 million

*Allocating $310,000 from other sources

The changes in funding for the Lanier Islands Parkway project include adding:

*Federal funding of $279,000

*Other funding of $70,000

The public comment period began Monday and will continue through Feb. 19.  Detailed information on the proposed changes can be found on the GHMPO Website.  Hard copies of the document are available for review at the Hall County Planning Department in the county government center.
