FLOWERY BRANCH — Nick Lance knows Flowery Branch football as well as anyone.

An intergral player since his freshman campaign, he's been on the front lines for the Falcons since 2014 and experienced the ups and downs of playing mostly winning football but also missing out on the playoffs for three straight years.

So when the Branch began its turnaround under first-year coach Ben Hall in 2017, Lance knew something special was under way.

The Falcons enter the Class AAAAA postseason as the No. 2 seed from Region 8-AAAAA following an 8-2 campaign that saw them banish the frustrations of recent campaigns.

Recent;y Lance talked with Access WDUN Sports and Friday Game Night editor Morgan Lee about his team's journey and what still lies ahead for his resurgent program.

Flowery Branch's Malik Damons, center, looks for running room after taking a hand off in last week's game against Buford.
