After a record-breaking performance at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, University of North Georgia women's golfer Megan Sabol was named Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.

Sabol broke both the UNG 18- and 36-hole school scoring records as she won the Patsy Rendleman Invitational by three strokes. The sophomore from Augusta, Georgia, opened with the third-best round in school history, then shattered that mark with a four-under 68 in round two.

Her 68 was tied for the low round of the tournament and is the lowest single round shot in the conference this season. It is also tied for fourth-lowest in conference history. Sabol now leads the PBC with a 73.50 stroke average for the season.

Sabol and the Nighthawks will next compete in the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega starting Monday, October 16, at Achasta Golf Club.
