GSP identifies pedestrian killed in Dawson County accident Monday

The Georgia State Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal pedestrian accident Monday night.

Bobby Eugene Wells, 80, of Dawsonville was attempting to walk south across Dawson Forest Road from the Chestatee Worship Center, towards Pinewood Trail. 

State Patrol Post 37 spokeswoman Robin Stone said in an email that troopers are unsure why the vehicle, traveling east on Dawson Forest Road, struck Wells with the front passenger side of the vehicle.

The vehicle left the scene. Authorities still do not know who was driving or what the vehicle looked like.

Wells was pronounced dead at the scene.

Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is assisting in the investigation of the crash. If anyone has information in regards to this crash or the vehicle which left the scene, please contact Georgia State Patrol, Post 37 Cumming at 770-205-5400.
